Itinerary

Guwahati, Bomdila, Tawang, Bhalukpong, Kaziranga, Jorhat, Majuli, Shillong and Cherrapunjee.

Day 01 :
Guwahati

Arrive at Guwahati airport, received and transferred to hotel. After refreshment visit Kamakhya Mandir, Balaji Mandir and also visit Shankardeva Kalakshetra. Evening enjoy the river cruise on the river Brahmaputra.

Overnight at Guwahati.

Day 02 :
Guwahati - Tezpur

Drive to Tezpur, (180km) – reminding the mythological and historical romance of Usha and Lord Krishna’s Grandson Anirudha. At Tezpur, visit Mahabhairave mandir, Chitralekha Uddyan, Ganesh ghat and Agnigarh. Overnight at Tezpur.

Day 03 :
Tezpur - Bomdila

Today drive to Bomdila (160km) - the head quarter of west Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh and also known for its Buddhist monasteries. It has a lot of attractions for the visitors for its cool climate. On arrival Bomdila, check in at hotel. Afternoon visit Bomdila Monastery.

Day 04 :
Bomdila - Tawang

This morning check out from hotel & visit Bomdila Monastery & proceed to Tawang (180km) – the land of Monpa Tribes & major centre of the Mahayana Buddhists. On the way to Tawang lies the world’s second highest pass – Sela Pass (13700ft) which run through a small ridge & along a lake called Sela Lake. And visit Jaswantgarh, a memorial to the brave soldier who single handily tried to hold of approaching Chinese from the pass during the 1962 Indo-Chinese war. On arrival at Tawang check in hotel.

Day 05 :
Tawang sightseeing

Tawang local sightseeing – visit Tawang monastery, War memorial, Bhramadungchung ani gompa and in the evening enjoy the shopping at local market. Overnight at Tawang.

Day 06 :
Tawang - Bhalukpong

After breakfast, drive to Bhalukpong (283km) – a border town of Assam and Arunachal. On the way enjoy the beauty and majesty of Jung Water Fall and visit Kiwi Garden at Dirang valley. On arrival at Bhalukpong check in hotel. O/N at Bhalukpong.

Day 07 :
Bhalukpong – Kaziranga

Drive to Kaziranga National park (160km) - is the most popular wildlife destination of Northeast India and dots it name among the world tourist destination for the highest population of World famous One Horned Rhinoceros in its natural habitat. The commonly sighted animals of the park are Rhinoceros, Asiatic wild Buffalo, Swamp Deer, Hog deer, Wild Boar, Elephant, Sambar, Hollock Gibbon, Python, etc. The park also has a rich variety of about 300 different species of avifauna. 

Overnight at Kaziranga.

Day 08 :
Kaziranga – Jungle activity

An early wakeup, have a bed tea and get ready for an exclusive Elephant ride inside the park. After an hour’s ride from 5:30 to 6:30/ 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. back to resort for breakfast. After having breakfast we will take a Jeep ride to the Central range (Kohora) of the park.  Back to resort for lunch.

Afternoon another Jeep safari in the Western range (Bagori) of the Park. Back to resort before sunset.

Overnight at Kaziranga.

Day 09 :
Kaziranga – Jorhat

Today morning drive to Jorhat. On arrival you will be given a comprehensive guided tour of how the tea bush is grown and looked after. You will also get to know the most important technique of how to pluck the “two leaves and a bud” – that is later manufactured into a tealeaf. Then visit the Tocklai Tea Research Centre where all aspects of tea cultivation and processing are carried out at the Experimental Centre. (Remains close on Saturday, Sunday and other Govt. holidays). After that check in hotel.

Day 10 :
Jorhat – Majuli

This morning proceed to Majuli – the largest river island is a beautiful storehouse of Vaishnavaite culture. Explore the Satras and the Mishing tribal village. The Satras here are the vaishnavaite monastery established in the 16th century by the saint and cultural reformer Mahapurukh Srimanta Sankaradeva. Satras are the prayer halls, a center for practicing and performing art like Satrya dance, mask making, Bhaona (drama related to Hindu mythology) and various religious songs.

Day 11 :
Majuli – Jorhat

After breakfast proceed to Jorhat. On arrival check in hotel.

Day 12 :
Jorhat – Shillong

An early breakfast drive to Shillong (370km) - “Scotland of the East”. En-route visit Umium Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. On arrival at Shillong check in to hotel.

O/N at Shillong.

Day 13 :
Excursion to Cherrapunjee

After breakfast, will go for a day long excursion to Cherrapunjee (65km) – the wettest place in the world. At Cherrapunjee enjoy the numerous waterfalls like Nohkalikai falls, Mawsmai falls, Dainthelen Falls and also experience the adventure of caving at Mawsmai cave. On way to Cherrapunjee will visit Elephant falls and Shillong Peak – to have a bird eye view of the Shillong city. Evening drive back to Shillong and shopping at Police bazaar.

Overnight stay at Shillong.

Day 14 :
Shillong – Guwahati

Today morning will visit Cathedral of Marry, Lady hydari Park, Ward’s lake. Afternoon, visit Don Bosco museum (Sunday close), Shillong golf course. Then drive to Guwahati.

O/N at Guwahati.

Day 15 :
Guwahati - departure

Morning drive to Guwahati airport to board the flight for your onward destination. The tour concludes here.
