Itinerary
Arrival at Guwahati air port/rail station received and greet by our company representative then drive to Shillong (110 km/03 hrs) - known as the ‘Scotland of the East’. En route you will visit the largest manmade lake of Northeast India – Umium Lake – you can opt for some thrilling water sports in the lake.
O/N at Shillong.
After breakfast, will go for a day long excursion to Cherrapunjee (65 km) – the wettest place in the world. At Cherrapunjee enjoy the numerous waterfalls like Nohkalikai falls, Mawsmai falls, Dainthelen Falls and also experience the adventure of caving at Mawsmai cave. On way to Cherrapunjee will visit Elephant falls and Shillong Peak – to have a bird eye view of the Shillong city. Evening drive back to Shillong and shopping at Police bazaar.
O/N at Shillong.
Today after breakfast, explore Mawlynnong (90km) – claimed to be the cleanest village of Asia. Mawlynnong offers many interesting sights such as the living root bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another small rock.  Evening drive back to Shillong and visit Police bazaar. Overnight stay at Shillong.
After breakfast at hotel, head towards Nameri (250km) – a birders paradise famous for some the rarest birds like – White winged wood duck, Ibis bill, Hornbill species et. En-route you can visit the Tezpur, once known as Sunitpur and its monuments and temples. O/N at Nameri.
Drive to Dirang (140km) – En-route visit Tipi Orchidarium a place over 500 orchids, on display there are some rare species of orchid. Arunachal has largest range of orchids in the country then take a break at Nag Temple. On reaching at Dirang visit – Dirang Dzong, Sangty valley, Kalchakra monastery.
Overnight at Dirang.
After breakfast, proceed to Tawang (140km) – the land of Monpa Tribes and major centre of the Mahayana Buddhists. On the way to Tawang lies the world’s second highest pass – Se la Pass (13700ft) which run through a small ridge & along a lake called Se la Lake. And visit Jaswantgarh - a memorial to the brave soldier who single handedly tried to hold of approaching Chinese during the 1962 Chinese aggression. On arrival at Tawang check in to hotel and stay overnight.
After breakfast, will proceed to explore Jong Nga Tser Lake (Madhuri Lake), Taksang gompa, en-route stop to have the beautiful view of Penga Ten Tso (PT Tso lake. On return visit Bhramadungchung ani gompa (women monastery). At Tawang visit Tawang monastery, war memorial and evening enjoy the shopping at local market of Tawang. Overnight at Tawang.
This day will take return journey towards Bomdila. While coming from Tawang will visit Urgelling monastery – birth place of 6th Dalai Lama, Narunang waterfall at Jang. Arrive Bomdila in the evening and stay overnight at Bomdila.
This day will drive back to Guwahati (300km) and stay overnight at Guwahati.
After breakfast, Kamakhya Temple on the Nilachal Hills (10kms) – a seat of the tantric cult in India and one of the 108 Shakti Pethas in the country. Then drive to Guwahati airport for onward destination.
